Flagler Beach, Florida
Rosemarie Santa Maria
DECEMBER 19, 1941 – JULY 21, 2020
Our family sadly lost its pillar on July 21st, 2020 when the Lord called our beloved Rosemarie Santa Maria home. Born December 19 1941 to Daniel and Mary (Niebecker) Lucas in Cleveland, OH. Rose was the second youngest of her siblings, Daniel Jr., Ernest, Veronica (all deceased) and James. Losing her mother at the age of 10 her sister Ronnie stepped into that role. It created a very strong sibling bond between the two.
On August 27, 1960 she married the Love of her Life, Richard Santa Maria and together they created a loving family and lived in 4 different states. After leaving Cleveland, they called Denver, CO their home where Rose began working in the mortgage industry; her hard work was rewarded with success. She retired as a VP of Pulte Mortgage. She and Rich retired to Las Vegas, NV for 15 years enjoying Keno and the desert air before deciding to move across county to Flagler Beach, FL to be near their children.
Left to grieve with their father is Debby (Brian), Danny, Dave (Denise), Connie (Chris) and Richie. For the past 5 years They have all been able to live within a short commute of their Mom and have her wisdom, guidance, love and understanding in their daily lives.
She truly was the Matriarch of the Family. She was larger than life and her grandkids looked up to her, even though at under 5 feet tall, she looked up to them.
Left to live her no holds bar; I love you unconditionally legacy is Angela (Chuck), Michael (Ryan), Amanda (Joe), Candice (Chris), Christen, Jaime, Raven, David and Cheyanne (Steven). She is over the moon excited to be reunited with her Marky-Dos. Zavian, Amariana, Antonio, Aubryana, and Jameson are her Great Grandchildren that also brought her immense joy.
Her family was sacred to her, defending and protecting us in public, while encouraging our strengths and helping us overcome our weaknesses in private. We will miss her quick wit, her cooking and running to clean the baseboards before her visits, because she demanded a different definition of clean!
She will also be missed by her in-laws, Carman, Joe (Jeannie) and Connie and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Please join us in Celebrating her Life at her Memorial Mass, July 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Catholic Church 230 Old Dixie Hwy. Bunnell, FL and Reception with Family to Follow at Bulow Plantation 3345 Old Kings S, Flagler Beach, FL. Interment at Flagler Memorial Gardens.
